Where to meet new people?

I live in a college town, but I'm slightly older than college aged. I want to make new friends who I can go out with. My only idea so far is to get a weekend job, like at a restaurant, where I can make friends with coworkers. Any ideas about what kind of place I could work at that would have 22/23/24 year olds working rather than highschoolers? Any other ideas for meeting people?
